8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 2)
5. Reigns Stands Tall
There was no reason for Roman Reigns to not win cleanly Monday night. Love him or hate him, the Universal Champion should be able to defeat one-half of the Raw Tag Team Champions (unless it was Nicholas).
But Dolph Ziggler actually had a somewhat competitive match, working in a fair amount of offense. (Compare this bout with the Dean Ambrose/Braun Strowman match, where no one thought Ambrose was going to pin Braun.) Ziggler nailed a DDT on the floor and hit a Fameasser in the ring for a close 2. He also emerged from a series of reversals with a Zig-Zag for another 2. He even countered a spear with a sunset flip before falling to a spear that connected.
Reigns kept the theatrics to a minimum (for him) and just wrestled a solid match, winning cleanly.
