8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 2)
1. The Die Is Cast
There’s more written about this in the “ups” portion, but here is the downside of the main event brawl and the implications it brought.
It’s pretty clear that WWE is charging ahead with a Shawn Michaels & Triple H versus Undertaker & Kane match at Crown Jewel in November. The closing moments of Raw all but guaranteed it.
But that brawl also cast some doubt on how that match will go. Watch Taker struggle to get Triple H into position for a tombstone piledriver. UT hasn’t looked great in a match in a while. Kane is decent in limited fashion. There’s bound to be doubt about how Michaels will look in his first match in eight years.
And Triple H is the youngest of the four at a spry 49.
None of that is to say that this is going to fail. Far from it. They are four of the best and are more than capable of putting together a memorable match. But there likely will be expectations surrounding this eventual match, and if it doesn’t live up to them, then it’s going to be regarded as a disappointment.
Consider this a cautionary “down” as WWE seemingly cast its lot with this match on Monday.
