5. Jax Loses Via Countout

WWE is in a somewhat tough spot with Nia Jax.

They clearly want to keep her on camera while she’s in the running for a People’s Choice award, but she’s not in the title picture. They want her to remain dominant, but since she’s not in a title picture, they don’t want her plowing through opponents, especially other wrestlers they want to keep strong.

So pitting Ember Moon against Jax presented a problem Monday night. The solution: have Moon win via countout by beating the count after Nia plowed into the ring apron lightboard. Ember got the win, but Jax still looked strong in the brief match.

However, Jax also looked foolish, unable to competently wrestle her opponent and falling victim to her own carelessness. WWE would have done better to have the two wrestle a tag match against jobbers or do a handicapped match.

But this felt like a waste of time.
