8 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Battleground 2015

Downs...

8. Hey, Let€™s Have A Match!

''This is a tough one to call: Is the fact that Stephanie McMahon didn€™t announce the women€™s triple threat match until Battleground was underway short-sightedness on WWE€™s part or a smart piece of advertising for the Network? On Monday Night Raw, Stephanie brought out three NXT women €“ Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte €“ to shake up the Divas division. Despite some criticism, the segment went over really well, introducing all three women strongly and starting what McMahon called a revolution. And that€™s where things ended. €Until Sunday, when Stephanie announced one match into Battleground that each trio would pick one woman to compete in a triple threat match later that night. Why wouldn€™t you announce that sooner to draw in more viewers? Or at least make it look like there€™s some foresight to this stuff? Did they not make the match until the 11th hour? Or was this a strategy to make the WWE Network (and its special events) look like must-see programming? By not announcing the match beforehand and holding it during the event, did that effectively send a note to fans that they really need to get the Network and tune in because you never know what€™s going to happen? Knowing WWE, let€™s go with the former for now and see if we€™re proven wrong.
