For a period of a few months in mid-2012, AJ Lee became a major focus of each weekly Raw. It seemed like a strange move, having turned AJ into a mentally unstable woman who was making out with different men and manipulating them, but WWE was putting her front and center each week. Sometimes, the company would seemingly rivet her onto a storyline just to find a way to get her involved in a major angle. On one hand, its frustrating that WWE basically thought they had a small gold mine and exploited to the point where AJ suffered some backlash for being everywhere each week. On the other hand, this was the most attention WWE had paid to a female wrestler in some time, and she was mixing it up with the men, not just being a top woman separate of them.
