AJs original incarnation was as the Geek Goddess, with WWE playing up her nerdy tendencies her love of video games and comic books and incorporating that into her character. She wasnt portrayed as a super-sexy Diva, but more as the girl you dream of meeting at a comic book convention. It was a departure from the vast majority of Diva characters in recent years. Similar to being an anti-Diva, AJs geeky character paved the way for female characters like Bayley and Emma, who dont fit the mold either and qualify as geeky characters. Bayley especially resembles AJs early days, which the Black Widow herself has recognized. In her last WWE appearance on Raw, AJ sported a Bayley Im a hugger T-shirt for her match.One can only hope that WWE recognizes that having women show this side of their personality is actually a good thing.
