Few members of SmackDown’s women’s roster have suffered more than Becky Lynch lately. The 2016 draft seemed to position her as the brand’s female ace, but she lost her Women’s Title to Alexa Bliss in disappointingly quick fashion, and was never able to retain it. She has since become an indistinguishable face in the crowd thanks to SD’s insistence on crowded, multi-person feuds, and with it her status has greatly diminished over the past six months.

Money In The Bank is the ideal opportunity to hand Lynch a big victory, and shoot her back towards the top of the card. She’s one of the favourites to win the women’s ladder match, and handing her the briefcase would bring a fresh dynamic to what has become a stale, repetitive division.

As a babyface briefcase-holder, Becky could take the moral high ground, and announce her intention to cash-in ahead of time, rather than sneaking-up on an unsuspecting champion. If Lana beats Naomi on Sunday, this could lead to an entertaining scenario where the heel champ continually ducks the noble babyface, leading to a satisfying conclusion where Lynch finally gets her hands on the villain, and secures her second title reign.
