Where Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan are concerned, it was a battle of iron wills: both men refused to lose to the other. Deemed by many to be the two biggest names in the history of the business, it seemed that the dream match-up of Austin vs. Hogan was never going to happen due to the two being in rival companies and Vince McMahon having a fractured-at-best relationship with The Hulkster. But, as has regularly happened over the decades, Hogan and Vince became BFFs once more following the demise of WCW, and it finally seemed as if the long-dreamed of bout between the Texas Rattlesnake and Hollywood Hogan could soon become a reality. Only it never happened. Even though 2002 saw the pair in the same company, both men had gigantic egos. The proposed dream match, which was being considered as a huge attraction for that years WrestleMania, fell apart when both Austin and Hogan refused to lose. Whether Steve Austin was right or not here, one thing is certain: he pales in comparison to Hulk Hogan when it comes to those who he refused to lose to. As far as Hogan was concerned, The Hulkster lay down for absolutely nobody, brother.
