8 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Promotion

3. Alberto Del Rio - Pro Wrestling Guerilla

Is there a bigger disparity in performance than what you get from Alberto Del Rio inside a WWE ring compared to what you get away from it? When performing as Del Rio he seems lethargic, capable of putting on great matches but more often than not happy to do just enough to get by. He's been given some of the worst stories of recent times, and the sadness behind his eyes during his MexAmerica stint with Zeb Colter was heartbreaking. Compare that with his work as Alberto El Patron. Whether it was in Ring of Honor, AAA or Lucha Underground, El Patron showed babyface fire that was up there with anyone else in the business, leading many to question just how Vince McMahon and WWE had failed to capitalise on it. There is always talk of creating a new star for the Latino market, and here he was. What went wrong? Alberto Del Rio and WWE need to put an end to their relationship for good, as it isn't working for either one of them. El Patron needs to head to PWG and put on barnstorming matches with Roderick Strong, Zack Sabre Jr., Ricochet and the rest of the performers down there. He needs life behind his eyes once more and fire back in his belly.
