8 Wrestlers Who Gear Up For Big Matches
5. Jushin Thunder Liger
There are few masked wrestlers in the world today that are more recognizable than Liger. The mask, the horns, the mane of hair... he's truly unique, as singular as he is respected, revered, and emulated.
He seems truly timeless, appearing for decades in that same caped outfit, dishing out Shotei palm thrusts with ease.
But that hasn't always been the case.
On the rare occasion when Jushin's usual fare simply would not do, Liger would turn to his dark side, and emerge as Kishin Liger. (In the attached video, The Great Muta tears Liger's mask to pieces, revealing Kishin Liger for the first time. It's fantastic stuff.)
Exchanging his famous mask and body suit for white face paint and tribal warpaint on his torso, Kishin Liger was darker, more brutal, and more devious than Jushin Liger. Kishin Liger would even use the dreaded mist, that sinister staple of The Great Muta, Tajiri, and BUSHI.
A Kishin Liger appearance is exceptionally rare, but utterly impressive.
