Imagine if WWE had a change of heart in 2001 when scouting Ultimate Pro Wrestling and decided that out of the two, the uniquely built, stoic and yet still charismatic Samoa Joe were a bigger potential star than the hyper-muscular John Cena. Given that Jim Ross was in talent relations at the time, that's entirely possible. Imagine 15 years of WWE with Samoa Joe as a top WWE performer. Imagine that's Joe shaking hands with The Rock, that's Joe debuting against Kurt Angle, that's Joe wrestling Edge, Randy Orton, The Miz, and so many more. Now imagine John Cena developing his talents as an in-ring performer as a unique independent draw, spending time in Japan, moving to TNA and being a cornerstone of their company having entertaining matches with AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Daniel Bryan, Kurt Angle and more. Is it just me, or is there something about the progression of these two stars being flip-flopped that feels logical and right?
