8 Wrestlers Who Surprisingly Never Held WWE Gold
8. Elijah Burke
Elijah Burke - later 'D'Angelo Dinero' in TNA, for those who missed it - was supposed to be one of WWE's stars of tomorrow when he earned his call up to the main roster (well, ECW at least) in 2006. In the early goings, he was the chief antagonist of the ECW Originals, alongside fellow New Breed members like Marcus Cor Von and Kevin Thorn, and... well, it's probably not all that surprising that his once promising WWE career ended up turning sour.
It's at least a little surprising, though, that he didn't get a run with the ECW Championship. Granted, Burke was replaced as the main heel on Tuesday nights by John Morrison in 2007, but he did end up feuding with CM Punk later on in the year without managing to capture the belt. Seriously, Ezekiel Jackson held this thing - exactly who did Burke p*ss off?
