Storm was one of the first WCW wrestlers to be part of the InVasion angle and was given the gimmick that he was dull. Sure, Lance wasn't going to be able to go one-on-one with The Rock when it comes to mic prowess, but quite how fans were supposed to connect with someone positively or negatively when they were being told he wasn't worth their attention because he was such a dullard is anybody's guess.

He was berated by Stone Cold Steve Austin for being boring in a toe-curling, embarrassing segment. There was a jarring union with Goldust, in which he tried to inject some personality into his character, and even a stint where they tried to have Lance dance for the audience (presumably because those two words rhyme), but Storm's boring gimmick was unfathomably beneath a man of his in-ring talents
