8 WWE Commentators Vince McMahon Soured On

8. Jim Ross

Not even one of the greatest wrestling commentators of all-time is safe from the evil Irish madman Vince McMahon and his controlling ways.

Jim Ross will forever be known for his amazing body of work as a commentator in the 20 years he spent in WWE from 1993 to 2013. While McMahon recognized he was among the best in the world, that didn't stop him from embarrassing the Oklahoma native at almost every turn, including in his hometown on more than a handful of occasions.

From drafting him to SmackDown without prior notice to mocking his Bell's Palsy, McMahon hasn't been shy in bullying Ross on air, despite knowing his worth to the company's commentary team. By 2013, Ross, still in the prime of his career, was hardly being utilized and was eventually sent to the back of the classroom even though Ric Flair was the one talking.

Instead, McMahon thought it was time to move on from the J.R. era and start grooming new broadcasters for the future. That's all fine and dandy, and Ross is back with WWE as of this writing - but think about all the classic matches he could have called from the last few years had Vince put his personal animosity toward Ross aside.
