8 WWE Stars That Triple H Stabbed In The Back
8. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is Triple H’s latest victim. Upon splitting from The Shield in 2014, The Architect quickly became an Authority-sponsored avatar on WWE’s main event scene. Rollins reinvented himself as a slimy, smarmy heel alongside Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, and soon embarked on an Authority-assisted WWE Championship run that, while lengthy, confirmed Seth’s status as little more than a pawn in the McMahon-Helmsley machine.
A career-threatening knee injury put Rollins on the shelf and ended his title reign last year, but his presence lived on through Triple H. The Authority had long since made an enemy of Roman Reigns, Rollins’ old Shield brother, and Hunter feuded extensively with The Rock’s divisive cousin through this year’s WrestleMania.
It was the last WWE fans saw of Triple H for a good while, and Rollins returned one month later at Extreme Rules. Realigning with Stephanie, Rollins was back in the corporate pocket, and looked set to continue his privileged role as their hand-picked chosen one.
That was until this week’s Raw, however. As Reigns, Rollins, and Kevin Owens fought for the WWE Universal Championship, Triple H appeared for the first time in almost five months to help Rollins eliminate Reigns, then turn on Seth and allow KO to take the win, and the belt. Raw ended with elation for Owens, but widespread confusion for everyone else. What were Triple H’s motivations, and why did he choose to once again turn on an ally?
We’ll find out in due course.
