Hulk Hogan has become so synonymous within the wrestling industry for his tall tales that it's become a running joke at this point. He's told dozens of different versions of the same story, outlandish tales and outright lies so often that we don't expect any less from him every time he's in front of a microphone. Who can forget the classic Andre The Giant story, where both the Frenchman himself and the WrestleMania III crowd in the Pontiac Silverdome grows in size with each retelling? It's become a meme, with Hogan slamming the 1,200 pound giant in front of 260,000 screaming fans! The potent combination of Hulk Hogan's truth-stretching and Ric Flair's aimless - and often inebriated - ramblings makes for quite the pairing, and we were treated as such when The Hulkster joined The Nature Boy on his Wooooo! Nation podcast to share stories and shoot the breeze. Prepare yourself; some of these are whoppers.
9. Harley Race Pulls A Gun On Him
The two men talk about a well-circulated story involving Hulk Hogan and NWA legend Harley Race. The incident took place on a night when both the NWA and WWE were running in the same town, and Flair says that Harley - fueled by his anger at Vince McMahon's intruding on the territories - grabbed his handgun and left for the WWE show. Hogan says that Harley had already came by the arena earlier in the day and tried to light the ring on fire but the ring crew prevented it. Hulk had received warning that Race was looking for him with murder on his mind so he headed to the bar across the street and downed a two bottles of wine in the hopes that he'd miss him. Later that night he's defecating in the locker room with his pants around his ankles when Davey Boy Smith yelled out that Harley Race had arrived. Hogan said he jumped up without even wiping and went to face the music, only to find Race standing with his gun drawn. Hulk says the St. Louis wrestling icon looked at him and said "I came here to blow your d*mn kneecaps off but I'd rather work with you guys." Hogan says after that he hooked him up with Vince, but admits he was scared to death.
