Ever since World Wrestling Entertainment announced the Global Cruiserweight Series was to take place this year on the WWE Network, Zack Sabre Jr. was a name frequently bandied about. Zack has been making waves in the non-WWE world for a few years now, and is generally regarded as one of (if not the) the best professional wrestlers in the world today.
All question marks hanging over his appearance in the series have now been put to rest, as Sabre Jr. actually became the first man to win a qualifying match for the GCS. At the PROGRESS 29 event in London, Sabre bested Flash Morgan Webster by submission, confirming his presence in the series.
He's about to make his presence felt on the radar of the entire WWE Universe, so now is as good a time as any to get to know some vital statistics about the man known as the Technical Wizard. By looking at him you can tell that he's from right in the United Kingdom (Kent to be exact), but what else do we need to know?

9. He Started Training Aged 14
Born in 1987 in the Isle of Sheppey, Zack Sabre Jr. was a huge wrestling fan from a very young age. He has said on a number of occasions that professional wrestlers are more often than not just the biggest fans of the art form, and from early on he would collect tapes and watch as much wrestling as possible.
All of this led to him beginning his training at the tender age of 14. His journey began at the NWA-UK Hammerlock Training School, the school responsible for producing some of the biggest and most respected names in UK wrestling such as Doug Williams, Fergal Devitt (Finn Balor), Rebecca Knox (Becky Lynch), Katie Lea (Katie Lea Burchill in WWE, Winter in TNA) and many more.
The school ceased to exist as of 2014, but its legacy in British professional wrestling is assured.
