9 Ugliest Belts In WWE History

9. Intercontinental Championship (1999)

Not only does the Intercontinental Championship redesign introduced in 1999 look like a squashed penny from a midway amusements arcade, but it also committed the heinous sin of replacing one of the most beloved belts in the history of the business.

Truth is, WWE had no choice. Reggie Parks, who had created the original strap, refused to sign over his artwork to the company in 1998, forcing Vince and co. to devise a brand new look for their mid-tier title. Unfortunately, the one they came up with looked cheap as chips, barely discernible from a plastic replica littering the aisles of Toys 'R Us.

In 2011, Cody Rhodes thankfully 'reintroduced' the classic Intercontinental Championship - though (winged) eagle-eyed fans will have noticed its slight lawyer-becalming modifications.
