R-Truth's big heel turn and descent into maaadness had occurred some months earlier when Truth took out his former tag team partner John Morrison. In reality, Morrison had been sidelined with a nagging pinched nerve in his neck. He wouldn't legitimately return to action until the end of July 2011 - but on 13th June he would fake a return to the ring on Monday Night RAW, in order to put R-Truth over for delivering yet another unsanctioned beating, kayfabe putting him out yet again.The unhinged nature of R-Truth's new heel character had yet to be properly fleshed out before this point, and Killings was a revelation in the months to come: funny, intense and more than a little dark. Although skirting the edges of the main event was arguably as far as the character should have gotten, he definitely made the most of his time in the spotlight.
