9 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (7 Oct)

6. Wildcard Josh

A short and snappy Josh Alexander promo saw the former X Division Champion address every point of his and Christian Cage's match vs. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton.

Alexander noted how Cage is a veteran of both the business and particularly tag team wrestling. He's been able to study the career of Christian from day one, meaning that traditionally, it would be a privilege to team with him. Instead, things are tense. This is a game of one-upmanship between the World Title champion and challenger, though the crucial point being made was that Alexander is far from a wildcard choice to be challenging for the strap. When they face Austin and Fulton, it'll merely give Cage a front-row seat to visualise what awaits him at the pay-per-view.

A near two-decade veteran himself, Josh Alexander is a worthy contender for the Instant Classic on 23 October. He was effective in his promo work here, discussing everything required of him in under a minute. That takes skill, a skill that has aided Josh in his elevation throughout IMPACT. He's at a great point in his career at the moment.
