The most recent episode of Impact Wrestling turned out to be quite the surprising night in lots of different ways.

Firstly, Tessa Blanchard and Ace Austin fought over the X Division Championship in the main event, marking the first time a Knockout has challenged for that title in one on one competition. Secondly, Joey Ryan has seemingly decided to align himself with Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes for whatever reason, something that doesn't make that much sense considering 'The King of Dong Style' was hitting on Forbes mere weeks ago. Thirdly, Rohit Raju of The Desi Hit Squad had a decent singles match. Who knew he had it in him!

Elsewhere on the two hours of enthralling Impact Wrestling action, Madison Rayne debuted Miranda Alize to challenge Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, Eddie Edwards and Michael Elgin tied up their best of five series at two wins apiece, meaning a fifth and final match will indeed be required, Johnny Swinger and Glenn Gilbertti formed a new pairing that can only mean misery for Impact's doubles division, and Gut Check returned in a brand new, disappointing format.

It was a surprising night. Not the best night, though, as you can tell from some of those latter comments. Let's get to it...
