9 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2015

7. New Day, New Champs

Maybe Kofi Kingston€™s Icarus shoes telegraphed it a little too much, but you had to believe that New Day was going to leave SummerSlam with the WWE Tag Team Championships in hand. And thanks to the mass confusion that a fatal four-way tag match creates, New Day regained the titles that they arguably should never have lost. The four teams €“ champs Prime Time Players, Los Matadores, Lucha Dragons and New Day €“ kept things moving throughout the match and delivered some pretty fun moments. Kalisto in particular shined in this bout during a flurry against Big E and then Darren Young. Of course, Xavier Woods was gold on the outside, yelling about how Big E was serving €œtriceps meat€ when he hit opponents, and then spiking El Torito to take him out. This isn€™t going to win a Match of the Year nomination, but it was a fun match with the right result: New Day won, the former champs weren€™t pinned, and the most viable team to challenge the new champs (Lucha Dragons) weren€™t pinned either.
