9 Vital Ways To Improve WWE RAW

By Matt Davis /

1. Provide Quality Writing & Storytelling

Without a doubt, the most effective way to improve RAW is by improving the quality of the show. In other words, the writing and storytelling needs to be taken up several notches. The fact is that viewers are cutting the cord at accelerated rates and people have many different choices when it comes to consuming content in 2015. RAW may not have any true direct sports-entertainment competition but that doesn't mean viewers are settling for the WWE. There has never been a more important time for TV producers to provide quality content. The WWE has always preferred to categorize itself as entertainment rather than sport. The company has also stated it competes with shows like sitcoms, soap operas, reality TV, dramas and other pop-culture hits of the time period. If that is true, there is no reason why RAW should not be as entertaining and compelling as anything else available on Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon, or traditional cable. There appears to be plenty of talent within the WWE capable of executing good storytelling and putting on quality matches, they just need to be given the tools. Many of the individuals on the roster have grown up watching the WWE product so they know what makes the business entertaining. In this latest golden age of TV where the audience can choose from well-written shows like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, House of Cards, Homeland and more, Monday Night RAW needs to be just as compelling if they truly want to compete. In 2015, so many quality programs are fighting for the audience's attention. If that isn't enough reason for the WWE to step their game up and start churning out quality writing, then ratings will likely continue to decline as the television industry changes around them.
