9 WWE Championship Wins That Were Completely Overshadowed

4. Chris Jericho - Elimination Chamber 2010

Going into Elimination Chamber 2010, the World Heavyweight Champion was none other than The Undertaker. The issue here was that Taker seemed destined to face Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania once again, only this time Michaels would put his career on the line. The belt therefore became somewhat superfluous in that story, and it seemed somewhat wasted there.

So The Deadman needed to drop the belt. This happened at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, as HBK appeared completely out of nowhere to drop 'Taker with some Sweet Chin Music and cost him the title belt. Taker/Michaels II was on for WrestleMania XXVI.

The secondary story coming out of the PPV was that Chris Jericho was the main beneficiary of Michaels' interference, and was World Heavyweight Champion for the third time. Jericho transitioned into a feud with Edge, but the continuation of 'Taker and Michaels' story was the real talking point here.
