Tony Khan won't make the move so many others like him have and switch the suit for spandex in All Elite Wrestling. "Not anytime soon" anyway, according to the man himself.

Speaking to Fox Sports' Levak & Goz, the Founder, co-owner, president, and CEO of AEW strongly suggested that he wouldn't be adding "wrestler" to his long list of roles. At least not for now He said (h/t Fightful);

“I don’t think anybody really wants to see that. Not anytime soon. That’s not anything I think we’re going to do. I do think AEW has a great roster, the best wrestlers in the world. I would rather try to put the best matches and we have exciting rivalries building in AEW right now.”

As unlikely a move as it seems on the surface, Khan would be bucking a trend followed by countless promoters and authority figures if he didn't at least once step between the ropes. He has at least kept a relatively limited profile as AEW's on-screen boss, mentioned mostly by commentators and wrestlers as a decision-maker when matches need to be set up.

The "never say never" cliché in wrestling remains true though - Khan initially pledged to stay invisible within the fiction of the product, but his to-camera announcements have become familiar sights on AEW television in the last five years.
