AEW Adds Unique Stipulation To Chris Jericho Vs. Cody
There MUST be a definitive winner when Jericho meets Cody at Full Gear.
AEW ace Cody challenges for Chris Jericho's World Championship at the Full Gear pay-per-view in Baltimore, Maryland on 9 November, and yesterday saw the colossal main event get a new stipulation.
Per an official AEW press release (h/t WrestlingNews.co), a panel of three judges shall sit at ringside and will vote for a winner in the event of a 60-minute time limit draw, ensuring a definitive winner for the well-built clash. If the trio don't come to a unanimous decision, they'll go with the majority.
There's currently no word on who will comprise the team of judges, though names like Diamond Dallas Page, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard have been thrown into the rumour mill. The press release offers no clarity on judging criteria either.
Regardless, this is in-line with the "real-sport feel" AEW have attempted to push since launching and while sone may assume that the stipulation means we're definitely getting a 60-minuter in Baltimore, there's every chance it's a red herring, and we'll get a definitive winner within the time limit. Either way, it's another layer of intrigue for what promises to be a heated title fight.
