AEW Backstage Brawl Latest - Nick Jackson Knocked Out?!
Latest on the backstage drama engulfing AEW following All Out 2022.
Backstage mayhem in All Elite Wrestling remains the sport's dominant story two days after All Out 2022, where tensions boiled over following incendiary remarks made by CM Punk at the post-show media scrum.
Fightful Select, in the first of two reports, confirmed talk of a backstage altercation involving CM Punk, AEW's EVPs, and more. Punk's trainer and friend Ace Steel is believed to have played a major role in this, with accounts stating that Nick Jackson was "rocked" or "knocked out" in the melee, having had a chair thrown at him by Steel.
Steel is also alleged to have grabbed Kenny Omega by the hair and bitten the new AEW World Trios Champion.
The situation has been described as "A lot of cursing, a lot of mayhem, and a lot of people not being willing to hash it out." Legal ramifications may now come of it - and at least one AEW coach was "torn up" about the situation.
Later, Fightful stated in another report that Steel had "shoot cracked" Jackson with a chair, which is where the story of Nick leaving the brawl with a black eye came from. There is now understandably huge heat on Ace in AEW, though one source was sceptical that the argument could have escalated to the point that somebody would use a chair.
Several people were involved in breaking the fracas up, with one source describing the situation as "them trying to save lives." People within AEW have shown support for both sides, with some blaming Punk for lighting the fuse with his comments at the media scrum, while others believe The Elite shouldn't have confronted the AEW World Champion while he was angry.
Chris Jericho, meanwhile, has been praised for his calm demeanour when speaking at the media scrum, which he closed alongside AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan.
