AEW Backstage Mood As CM Punk Match Confirmed For Collision Premiere
What's the mood amongst the key players now CM Punk's in-ring return has been confirmed.
Both CM Punk and Jay White appear to be in positive spirits ahead of their first in-ring encounter on the upcoming debut episode of AEW Collision.
This is according to Fightful Select, who reported that;
"Sources familiar with the situation have said that Switchblade Jay White has been “very laid back” about his early creative, and that CM Punk had taken a liking to him and wanted to work with the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion."
Tony Khan's latest Dynamite announcement confirmed that CM Punk will team with current AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to take on Ring Of Honor TV Champion Samoa Joe and Bullet Club Gold members Jay White and Juice Robinson.
The contest will mark Punk's first since his All Out 2022 main event with Jon Moxley. 'The Straight Edge Superstar' won the AEW Championship for the second time that night, but infamously fought backstage with Executive Vice Presidents Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks following scathing criticism of their work during the post-show press scrum.
Khan announced the match ahead of 'Switchblade' cruising to victory over Ricky Starks in the evening's main event. The pair had previously gone to a controversial disqualification after 'Absolute' and Robinson's own match was initially derailed by White's debut.
