AEW boss Tony Khan has revealed that Brawling Birds tag-team star Jamie Hayter is recovering from a "major injury" that'll rule her out of this weekend's WrestleDream 2026 pay-per-view in Orlando, Florida.

Hayter had been set to team with Alex Windsor on the show, but the pair's match has now been cancelled. The Brit's latest bout was a gnarly 'Chicago Street Fight' vs. Divine Dominion duo Megan Bayne and Lena Kross at All Out on 26 September. Afterwards, Jamie was said to be rather banged up.

It's unclear whether or not any injuries suffered in Chicago caught up with her here. Hayter did appear in a backstage segment on the 14 October edition of Dynamite and Collision, but she hasn't worked in-ring since the last pay-per-view.

Khan remains hopeful that his star will be back in action "in a couple of weeks". Obviously, when it comes to pro wrestling injuries, things can change in a hurry. Setbacks are sadly part and parcel of the biz, but fingers crossed Hayter is able to make a swift recovery.

At time of writing, Bayne and Kross are set to clash with Sisters Of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) on the pre-show before WrestleDream goes live. That's a standard tag bout though - no 'Street Fight' shenanigans for these ladies on this occasion.

For what it's worth, there's been no talk of vacating the AEW Tag-Team Titles. Hayter won those alongside Windsor at All In on 30 August. That match would've meant a great deal to both, because the event took place in London, England.

Here's hoping Jamie is already on the mend.
