AEW Changed THIS Revolution 2022 Match Finish Multiple Times
One of AEW Revolution 2022's biggest matches was subjected to constant chopping and changing.
Britt Baker scored a surprising victory over Thunder Rosa at AEW Revolution 2022 this past weekend, retaining her Women's World Championship when many considered a title change a near-lock, but what transpired on screen might not have been what the bookers originally had in mind for the bout.
Per Fightful Select, AEW changed the finish to Baker vs. Rosa several times when putting the match together. This happened in the weeks leading up to Revolution. Ultimately, they decided to go with Baker winning following multiple interferences from her seconds, Rebel and Jamie Hayter, though it's unlikely that the company is done with the Thunder Rosa feud.
Rosa wrestles Leyla Hirsch on this week's episode of Dynamite. The winner challenges Baker for the belt on next week's St. Patrick's Day Slam special, which takes place in Rosa's San Antonio, Texas hometown. At the moment, it looks like AEW wants the former NWA Women's World Champion to take Britt's gold on that date.
There is currently no concrete word on why, exactly, AEW changed the Revolution finish so many times.
Baker has been AEW Women's World Champion for 283 days, having taken the strap from Hikaru Shida at Double Or Nothing 2021 last May.
