In an interesting note from the first Ring Of Honor show booked by new owner Tony Khan, all Supercard Of Honor matches featuring All Elite Wrestling talent were won by the AEW stars, with multiple titles changing hands as a result.

In an instant classic and what’s surely a Match Of The Year candidate, FTR defeated The Briscoes to become ROH Tag Team Champions. Elsewhere, Mercedes Martinez won the interim Women’s Championship with a victory over Willow Nightingale, while Wheeler Yuta dethroned Josh Woods in a choice effort for the Pure Title.

Elsewhere, Swerve Strickland defeated Alex Zayne and Jay Lethal was victorious over Lee Moriarty in something of an AEW derby on the Khan-helmed event.

For all the optics could have been poor, the matches all performed well enough to ensure there was little pushback. The results were mostly well received, and a Dynamite run-down was cheered by those in attendance, so for now at least the new bedfellows aren’t all that strange.

The overlaps are likely to continue as the new era takes shape, particularly if Khan elects to use some of his resources to boost both brands.
