AEW Dynamite ratings were up for this week's special Grand Slam episode - but the brand's recent run of "victories" over WWE Raw is over.

As originally reported by Wrestlenomics' Brandon Thurston, Dynamite improved from 1.175 million (15 September) to 1.273 million (22 September) in P2+ viewership and from 574,000 to 627,000 in P18-49 viewership. Despite this, the show's two-week run ahead of Raw in the key demographic came to an end, with Grand Slam's 0.48 rating falling short of Raw's jump to 0.49 this week.

The P2+ and P18-49 numbers are both the third-highest in company history. Grand Slam also finished first on the night amongst original cable telecasts, with Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills finishing second with a 0.39 rating.

Held in New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium, this special Dynamite episode was the highest-attended event in AEW history, attracting over 20,000 fans.

Though much of the ticket sales came long before any match announcements, much of the evening's hype was built around Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega's first singles match since 2019, which played out across the first two quarter-hours and part of the third.
