AEW Extends Brian Cage's Contract
Brian Cage will be sticking around in AEW for at least another year.
Brian Cage has had his All Elite Wrestling contract extended by one year, reports Fightful Select.
It is believed that word of AEW taking up the one-year option on Cage's contract with the promotion was doing the rounds at Wednesday's television tapings in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This came from Brian, who told the story to those close to him.
Cage, himself, was surprised by the re-up, as he and many others within the promotion were of the assumption that his contract would be allowed to expire.
The 38-year-old hasn't wrestled on AEW television since the 8 October episode of Rampage, on which he lost to Ricky Starks to seemingly wrap his feud with Team Taz. He wrestled on the Jericho Cruise later than month, which Tony Khan considers AEW canon, but none of those bouts aired on TV.
Fightful state that there is currently no word on when or how, exactly, Cage might return to AEW.
Cage has since tweeted the following on the matter, neither confirming nor denying:-
Hmmm, not sure who I told all of this too

Cage's wife, Melissa Santos (a ring announcer in IMPACT Wrestling), spoke out on her husband's utilisation in AEW on social media last year, sparking speculation on the former Team Taz member's departure.
