AEW Full Gear 2020 Estimated PPV Buys And Attendance Revealed
Another solid set of numbers from Tony Khan and the gang.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter are reporting that last Saturday's AEW Full Gear event brought in around 100,000 pay-per-view buys.
Buys from pay-per-view, FITE TV and BR Live are all included in this number, and it was also stated that these early estimates are much more accurate than in the past due to most of the promotion's buys coming directly from FITE TV or BR Live streams.
It's worth noting that the domestic buys for Full Gear were lower than All Out and Revolution, but international buys were actually higher.
This number seems to be consistent with the rest of the PPVs AEW has presented in 2020, with February's Revolution and September's All Out both bringing in an estimated 100,000 - 110,000 buys and May's Double or Nothing drawing an estimated 115,000 – 120,000 buys. For comparison, 2019's Full Gear brought in an estimated 90,000 - 100,000 buys.
On the night of Full Gear 2020, 850 paid fans were also present in Daily's Place, with the total attendance reaching just over 1,000 when sponsors and other individuals were taken into account. This gave the event a $60,000 house.
Not bad for a show in the middle of a current global health crisis...
