Last night's Fyter Fest show brought the first set of match announcements. The most notable of these involves AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa, who will put her belt on the line against TJPW standout Miyu Yamashita in a match that started coming together on 9 July.

Yamashita defeated Rosa in a singles bout at TJPW's Summer Sun Princess '22 event on that date. Per the stipulation, Miyu would be entitled to a future title shot should she fell Rosa, who addressed her opponent in a short promo on last night's show.

As previously covered, AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan came up with the idea of running Thunder Rosa and Yamashita against each other after being impressed by Miyu during a June Dark: Elevation taping.

The night's other match announcement involved Ricky Starks, who will defend the FTW World Championship against Danhausen at Fight For The Fallen. Starks defeated ex-NXT man Cole Karter in a match born of an open challenge last night. Full of bravado, Ricky then issued another challenge, which was answered by Danhausen. But while Danhausen fought he'd get the shot there and then, Starks postponed it until next week.
