The long-awaited announcement came during today's Warner Bros. Discovery upfronts in New York City. Warner's official press release mentionedPowerhouse Hobbs, Thunder Rosa, Miro, Samoa Joe, and Andrade El Idolo as "headliners" who will feature on the brand, while official promotional graphics also include the House Of Black, FTR, MJF, and Orange Cassidy.

There was no mention of CM Punk, who has long been rumoured as part of AEW's new Saturday brand, nor was there anything on a new media rights deal. AEW's current agreement with WBD expires on 31 December 2023, though Warner has a one-year extension option on that contract.

For now, it seems talk of a one-billion-dollar extension for AEW will remain as rumours.

AEW founder and CEO commented as part of the press release:-

“With the addition of ‘AEW: Collision’ on TNT, I’m extremely proud that a Turner network will be the home of Saturday night wrestling for the first time in more than two decades. The debut of ‘Collision’ is significant across numerous sectors including television, wrestling, entertainment and sports, and reinforces AEW as the bold property we envisioned when we launched in 2019. ‘Collision’ will deliver live every Saturday night more of what fans and viewers tell us they want – athleticism, big personalities, exciting storylines and hard-hitting wrestling action, all of which have become synonymous with AEW.”

Last week, Khan teased an announcement for tonight's episode of Dynamite - which may still be forthcoming.
