AEW Officially Signs Lee Johnson
Fresh off scoring his first AEW Dynamite win, The Nightmare Family's Lee Johnson is All Elite...
In a move that has likely been in the works for several months, All Elite Wrestling has officially confirmed the signing of Lee Johnson
Tony Khan broke the news after last night's episode of Dynamite:-
Johnson teamed with his Nightmare Family mentor Cody Rhodes on the show. Facing off against Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi, the bout saw 'Big Shotty' take full control as Rhodes sold a shoulder injury, shining bright before scoring the pinfall on Avalon. This was his first AEW victory in 32 attempts.
A Dark regular since the onset of the global health crisis last April, Johnson often stood out despite being booked as an enhancement talent, demonstrating babyface fire and athletic prowess opposite more tenured AEW performers. He was officially made part of Rhodes' Nightmare Family collective last October and has since made a handful of appearances alongside Cody on television, though this was their first tag match together.
Training under Cody, Dustin Rhodes, QT Marshall, and other Nightmare Family members should serve Johnson well as his pro wrestling education continues. It'll be interesting to see if he is now booked in winning positions more often, particularly on Dark, where he wrestles most weeks.
