AEW Officials "BAFFLED" By Bayley Links As WWE Departure Rumors Intensify (WWE News)
AEW "baffled" by recent Bayley ties.
With plentiful rumblings that Bayley could be set to swap WWE for AEW, and with the Role Model very much leaning into such speculation, there's now somewhat of an update on her current situation.
Previously, it was reported that Bayley's existing WWE deal is coming up towards the end of the year. Amidst those AEW rumours, Bayley's long-time best friend Mercedes Moné has shared fan art for a potential match between the two at All In later this month, and Bayley herself recently posted an Instagram video accompanied by the 2009 song 'All In' by The Grouch & Eligh.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez said that people in WWE and AEW are "baffled" by all of this, with there a belief that Bayley's WWE deal isn't up "for a while, maybe as long as January, and that is if they don't add any time". And so, there is currently no chance of Bayley appearing at All In on August 30th, and "there may be no resolution to any of this all the way up until 2027".
Additionally, Dave Meltzer noted that "Bayley has a decision to make" and that she's yet to sign a new contract, but that he expects her to return to WWE TV if and when a new deal is agreed.
As alluded to, Bayley has been completely absent from WWE programming since being attacked post-match by Lyra Valkyria at the most recent Saturday Night's Main Event. She has competed at a couple of live events since then, but has yet to resurface on TV.
