AEW Original Quietly Leaves The Company
Former title contender no longer with AEW.
Sonny Kiss is no longer with AEW after her contract with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion expired without renewal.
Suspicion that the former TNT Title contender was no longer All Elite surfaced last week, when fans noticed Kiss wasn't listed on AEW's official roster page. On Sunday, Fightful Select confirmed, via reaching out to Sonny, that 'The Concrete Rose' had departed the company.
Khan commented on the situation when asked about Kiss during last night's post-All Out media scrum. Calling Sonny a great wrestler - and someone he likes a lot - Khan stated that he can't keep everyone on his roster under contract. He compared the situation to that of Stu Grayson, who departed AEW in May 2022 only to return the following March, stating that Kiss could be back at some stage.
AEW signed Kiss in February 2019, effectively making her a day-one wrestler for the promotion, whose debut event, Double Or Nothing, didn't take place until that May. February 2020's Fight for the Fallen event hosted the highest-profile match of Sonny's run, as Kiss fell to Cody Rhodes in a TNT Title challenge.
Outside of the now-defunct Dark and Dark: Elevation, Kiss has not wrestled on AEW television since an August 2022 Rampage defeat to Parker Boudreaux.
