AEW Sign Former Lucha Underground Star Angelico

The South American daredevil is on his way to All Elite.

All Elite Wrestling look set to confirm the latest addition to their talent roster, and his name is Angelico.

Pro Wrestling Sheet learned that the South American high-flyer sign a contract with the upstart promotion. AEW will likely confirm the signing soon, and there's every chance he could make an appearance at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view on 25 May.

The report comes on the back of a week of teases from the 32-year-old, who tweeted the following on Tuesday:-

Pro Wrestling Sheet's source claim that AEW faced significant competition for Angelico's signature, with WWE reportedly interested in bringing him in for NXT, but Vince McMahon's promotion opted against getting into a bidding war.

Best known for his work in Lucha Underground, Angelico secured his release from the cult promotion back in April 2018. He has since found a home on the indies, particularly in Europe, where he has become a regular fixture. Now, the former AAA star will get his first chance with what should become a major American promotion, and while there's no word on when he'll debut, AEW are still filling Double Or Nothing's Casino Battle Royal...
