AEW announced it had signed the former WWE wrestler after last night's episode of Dynamite, on which Fish unsuccessfully challenged for Sammy Guevara's newly-won TNT Championship, falling when Guevara found a way to hit his GTH finisher after slipping away from a high kick.

Fish was unveiled as Guevara's first TNT Title challenger shortly after Guevara took the belt from Miro on last week's show. Issuing his challenge on Twitter, Bobby was answered on Rhodes to the Top's debut episode, with Sammy seemingly re-establishing the open challenge gauntlet first purveyed by Cody Rhodes during The American Nightmare's run as the inaugural TNT Champion.
A free agent since 3 August, when he was let go by WWE, Fish, 44, was linked to a permanent AEW deal when eagle-eyed fans noticed the company's logo was printed on the shirt he was wearing in the match announcement graphic. The veteran also has MLW dates on his schedule, though Fightful Select noted on Wednesday (6 October) that he wasn't signed to the promotion.
With WWE from summer 2017 until his release, Bobby is best known as a member of The Undisputed Era with Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong. He enjoyed two NXT Tag Team Championship reigns with multiple partners during his run.
