AEW Still Releasing New CM Punk Merchandise
Tony Khan is still releasing CM Punk merch items despite ongoing controversy.
AEW boss Tony Khan is reportedly negotiating a buyout for CM Punk's company contract, but that hasn't stopped the All Elite boss from sanctioning new Punk merchandise items for sale via AEW's official online shop.
Log onto the storefront and you'll be encouraged to spend some dollars on new AEW-themed Christmas decorations. Christmas tree baubles are one of the top items, and there's even a Punk one to drop some cash on.
Interesting.
Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like bitterness between pro wrestlers and their employers. Seriously though, it is rather curious that AEW continues to produce Punk-themed merch items despite reports that he'll never wrestle for the promotion again.
Even those folks living under a rock must've heard all about the grim fallout from September's All Out pay-per-view. There, after beating Jon Moxley to regain the AEW World Title, Punk went off on quite the rant during a fiery post-PPV press conference.
Later, he had a backstage scuffle with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega that led to suspensions for everybody involved. Fast forward two months and AEW is selling Punk Xmas decorations.
Pro wrestling is wild.
