With the Revolution pay-per-view right around the corner and ratings stable following six consecutive Wednesday night victories over NXT, AEW is in a good place right now - though things might be getting stormy behind the scenes.

Per Twitter insider rovert, there is "simmering tension" between Executive Vice Presidents Kenny Omega, Cody, and The Young Bucks at the moment:-

Follow-up tweets cited wrestlers performing multiple times on the Jericho Cruise as a source of frustration, as well as Kenny Omega's decision to split the Nightmare Collective up last week and the increased use of joshi wrestlers like Yuka Sakazaki and Shoko Nakajima in recent weeks.

With regards to the source, recent months have seen rovert break the stories on Marty Scurll's new Ring of Honor contract, the ROH/NJPW working relationship's revival, and the NXT pay rises long before major wrestling media outlets would cover them. He has a track record.

Last week saw Fightful Select report that AEW President Tony Khan had taken more creative control on the promotion, noting that his input had been well-received by the roster.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this. The Elite has always been seen as a tight, cohesive group of friends, though it could be the case that working together has bred unforeseen tensions.
