AEW Teasing Major Debut At Full Gear

Who's next? Who's left?

In a somewhat counter-intuitive but no less intriguing advertisement, AEW has all but guaranteed, much less teased, a big game-changer at the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view (Saturday November 7).

Promotional material for the show runs down every major new act that has arrived on the scene in 2020 - Matt Hardy, Mr. Brodie Lee, Lance Archer et al. - and the latest, Miro, explicitly asks "Who is going to create the next big moment?"

"Big moment" narrows the scope. With respect to the free agents known currently, as talented and under-utilised as many are, they don't much warrant that description. And with competition in place since since AEW's January 2019 launch, there aren't many left. Contract details in wrestling are murky, though Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp maintains a register of sorts.

Pure speculation, but this might be linked in some way to MJF's threat that he will do "anything" to defeat Chris Jericho and earn his place in the Inner Circle. AEW doesn't often feel the need to shy away from booking its top stars to lose cleanly, but this is clearly part 1 of the programme. It does not end with MJF not joining; it ends with MJF playing heel to Jericho's babyface months down the line.

So who is it?

The remnants of WWE's 'Black Wednesday' remain available, but realistically, few seem worth selling a pay-per-view around. Might an old MLW colleague of MJF's surface in AEW, and again, with respect to a company that quietly generated acclaim and an audience before lockdown, would that constitute as "big"?

As AEW would want, it looks like you'll have to order to find out.
