Reigning champ Hikaru Shida, who has held the belt for over a full year and will defend against Britt Baker on Sunday's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view, was presented with the fresh championship. There's nothing remarkably different about it, but the central title plate is a lot larger than the original.

That, most fans on Twitter agree, is a major plus point.

The increase in size means AEW has also cut the number of sideplates down from three to two. Shida looked rather chuffed with her new prize, but she's not expected to hold it for too much longer.

Although her year-long reign has been a credit to the division (which, being honest, was previously struggling under former champions), this is Baker's time to shine. The heel challenger sparkled in recent matches against Thunder Rosa and others before making her championship plans clear for AEW's biggest pay-per-view of 2021.

What do you think of it? Do you prefer it, or do you wish AEW had kept the first one?
