This information comes from Spectrum, whose listings currently have Forbidden Door 2 marked down for that date. Neither AEW nor NJPW has made an announcement on the pay-per-view, though Tony Khan has continually talked up a prospect of a sequel to the highly-successful 2022 show through the media.

A recent In The Kliq podcast appearance saw the AEW founder acknowledge the first Forbidden Door was a "big success", adding that he was looking forward to the second:-

"We always build up this big event, AEW and NJPW coming together for Forbidden Door. I think Forbidden Door 1 was such a big success, we're looking forward to doing it together again. They send a lot of their top stars to AEW and to ROH and I love working with them. It's been a great relationship and there's a lot of trust between the parties."

Held at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on 26 June 2022, the original Forbidden Door was AEW and NJPW's first fully collaborative show, pitting stars from both companies against each other. Headlined by Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, it was met with immense levels of critical acclaim, particularly for matches like Will Ospreay vs. Orange Cassidy and the AEW debut of Claudio Castagnoli.
