AEW's Backstage Chaos Is Now A Pending Legal Issue
Details on legal issues stemming from AEW's post-All Out 2022 brawl.
The reported backstage brawl following AEW's post-All Out 2022 media scrum has gone legal.
Dave Meltzer stated on today's Wrestling Observer Radio that he and Bryan Alvarez had contacted the situation's principals for comment, but nobody is allowed to talk due to "pending legal issues." Individuals referred to as "legal people" are now involved - and those within AEW aren't talking about the apparent fight.
An incendiary CM Punk shot on 'Hangman' Adam Page, Colt Cabana, and AEW's group of Executive Vice Presidents during the media scrum. A confrontation then broke out behind the scenes, with Punk reportedly throwing a punch at Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson leaving with a black eye when Ace Steel threw a steel chair at him. Steel is also believed to have pulled Kenny Omega's hair and bitten the former World Champion.
Fightful Select reported on Monday that people within AEW believed the situation could have legal ramifications. This now appears to be the case.
How AEW will handle the matter is currently uncertain. On WOR, Alvarez and Meltzer speculated that legal involvement could lead to a "messy" scenario being drawn out, though AEW may have to act before this Wednesday's Dynamite show.
Eddie Kingston was recently handed a short suspension for putting his hands on fellow AEW star Sammy Guevara during a backstage confrontation.
