A Seattle, Washington signing session went very, very wrong for Darby Allin on Saturday (9 July), as the former AEW TNT Champion was attacked by rostermate Brody King before the meet and greet could even start.

This happened at a Zumiez store in Seattle's Westfield Southcenter mall. As recounted by Twitter user @jericollage70, who was at the session, King ambushed Allin, knocking the smaller man around the store as the crowd attempted to rally behind the babyface. This didn't work. Trapped in a sleeper hold, Allin was ultimately powerbombed through a table.

AEW began the process of building towards a match featuring King and Allin following last week's Dynamite in Rochester, New York. Felled in the main event by Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, King was met by stablemate Malakai Black when heading to the back after the broadcast had finished. This drew Sting and Allin from the back and although Darby tried to put a hand out for Brody, the big man didn't accept it.

King and Allin have four pre-AEW singles matches on their resume, with Brody winning all but one (a 10-minute time-limit draw for EVOLVE in January 2018). AEW may be building towards another one-on-one or a trios bout pitting the House of Black (completed by Buddy Murphy) against Allin, Sting, and Moxley.
