Many have speculated about what lies ahead in the future for Dax and long-time partner Cash Wheeler, with the pair's AEW contracts reported to be expiring around April time, not to mention the duo having recently dropped the ROH Tag Team Titles, the AAA Tag Team Titles, and the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.

Speaking on the latest episode of the brilliant FTR with Dax Harwood podcast (via the Wrestling Observer), Harwood stated how he and Cash have asked for, and been granted, the next few months off from AEW.

"We have asked and been granted the next few months off of television so we can sit back, reflect, decide, let our bodies heal, and figure out what we are going to do for the next few years, because whatever we decide to do next will be the absolute last thing we do, period, as far as wrestling."

Dax continued:

"I don't see myself in five years going on the independents and wrestling independents. I don't see myself working in five years a Japan tour or a Mexico tour or travelling around the world and wrestling all over places. That's why these next few months are the most important few months for us."

Before confirming that, as recent reports suggested, FTR's current AEW runs out in April, Harwood noted:

"By April, at least, at most, we will have an answer. But now, again, I have to take in my health, I have to take in my family, I have to take in my creativity, and I have to take my personal life all into consideration about what we are going to do next. I know what I want to do, but whatever we do, I Just want to be respected. We, I feel, have done something so special in 2022, and most of that is in part to the fans. I think we deserve to continue to build on our legacy for ourselves, but we also owe it to the fans to build on that legacy because they made us this past year. So, that's my news, is we are going to be away for a little while. I'm not sure exactly how long we'll be away. It may be all the way up until the end of our contract."

Interestingly, Harwood also detailed how he and Wheeler are looking at locations and venues for a possible wrestling school, for real estate ventures, and have even discussed opening a coffee shop.

As alluded to by Dax, 2022 was a heck of a year for FTR, with the tandem becoming one of the most popular acts in AEW and the wrestling business, period.

Garnering huge pops every time they appear on TV, Dax and Cash also made waves outside of AEW, putting on a stunning ROH trilogy with the Briscoes, wrestling the legendary Rock 'n' Roll Express, battling the American Wolves, locking up with Aussie Open, being managed by the beloved Bret Hart, and getting to tag with Ricky Steamboat in the iconic Dragon's retirement match.

Whatever the future holds for FTR - or could that be the Revival? - Harwood and Wheeler have no shortage of suitors, with 2022 cementing the pair as the best tag team on the planet in the eyes of many.
