Following the premiere of AEW Collision last night, Jim Ross is seemingly taking some time off from AEW duty.

Good ol' JR was announced as being part of the Collision commentary team alongside Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness, though in the end Jim was only on the call for the Collision main event.

Prior to AEW Collision, Ross suffered a fall which left him with a black eye. When JR did finally join the commentary team, his voice was notably hoarse, which is something that the icon himself has taken to Twitter to address.

In the aftermath of Collision's debut broadcast, Jim Ross has apologised for how he sounded and noted how he'll be stepping back to heal.

The greatest play-by-play man in the history of the business, Jim Ross is a legend who's responsible for some of the most memorable calls in industry. Having worked for Mid-South, Jim Crockett Promotions/World Championship Wrestling, and WWE, Ross joined AEW in April 2019. Bringing a wealth of experience, and that familiar voice, to All Elite Wrestling, Jim was the perfect hire for AEW and has continued to be a welcome presence on company programming.

All of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling wish Jim Ross the best in his recovery.
